Finally! All five FAC members are out of school, the weather is nice, and fun activties are piling up. But for the most part, we have an empty summer calander. We have a possible 4th of July celebration, the county fair, and family camp on our schedules, but there are many long, hot, unscheduled weeks between these events that need filling.8)
What we plan on doing this summer:
-The fair, with pig wrestling a possiblility
-Family camp will work out this year, it looks like. (The entire club plus some family will at fit into one cabin--although we may bring the RV or camping gear as well, because 10 in one cabin would be a tight fit.)
-Working on our clubhouse (We've chosen a location!)
-Finding shortcut paths through the woods
-Writing letters to the club member who has now moved away.
-Getting sleds together for the winter
-Doing long-term writing projects.
Some updates on club members:
Our lawmaker is now our pen-pal. She's settling into her new home, which is beyond the distance you can safely drive within a few hours, so she can no longer participate in the club meetings.:( Come back and visit us sometime! Have a good time at your new home! We'll miss you.
Our vice president, in the meantime, is finally healing. As of the last time we talked, she was wearing only one, small brace on her leg, instead of a small and large. She is putting weight on the leg and only using one crutch. Her leg is feeling much better, and she should be able to participate in lots of summer fun!:D
Earlybird and Ballerina are on vacation but will return soon for the rest of the summer.
Sir Benjamin the first is going to be showing pigs at the fair! Good luck, Sir!
Hope you all have a great summer!
